BVSD Early Connections Photo

Regrettably, the Early Connections Infant and Toddler Child Care Program, based at Arapahoe Ridge High School, will end at the end of this school year. The program’s last day with children will be Friday, May 24, 2024.

We recognize this decision's impact. Ultimately, the focus of a school district is on serving all of its students.

The primary focus of Early Connections has been to support BVSD student-parents. The majority of BVSD adolescent-parents, however, have chosen to utilize something other than our service. For the few student-parents currently enrolled in Early Connections, we plan to provide additional transitional support. Given the significant expense of running a licensed childcare center and Boulder TEC’s expanding Career and Technical Education programming, we felt the best course of action was to sunset the program.

The state provides robust support for families looking for childcare programs across Colorado. They offer services to assist families in finding licensed childcare options in your immediate area that serves the age group you are looking for, and you can use these systems in the following ways:

Early Connections (EC) provides a safe, nurturing environment in a licensed facility that invites children ages 6 weeks to 3 years to explore and discover together. Engaging, experienced caregivers build relationships and provide quality early experiences. Stimulating play and age-appropriate activities support all areas of development. The learning environment promotes self-esteem and encourages all children to develop at their maximum potential, while monitoring each child’s health, growth, and developmental needs. The Creative Curriculum® for Infants and Toddlers is a comprehensive, research- based curriculum that helps teachers and caregivers understand developmentally appropriate practice and how to offer nurturing daily routines and meaningful experiences that meet children's strengths, interests, and needs.
